Spiked and robbed on N12
A similar case was opened two days prior to this incident and it is of great concern to the police.
The notorious N4 car robberies have made their way to the N12 and instill fear in motorists who use the road.
In the early hours of Friday, February 25, motorists alleged that there were rocks placed on the N12.
A driver, who would not like to be named, drove over the rocks which caused a flat tyre on his car.
When the victim stopped his car, unknown men appeared and robbed him of his belongings.
The victim was left stranded in the dark as the suspects fled the scene soon after.
This was not the first incident to be reported.
The station commander of Phola Police Station, Lieutenant Colonel Nape Matlala said that a similar case was opened two days prior to this incident and that it is of great concern to the police.
“We urge people to drive carefully when using the N12, especially at night. People who drive at night are more likely to be victims of such crimes,” added Matlala.
The spokesperson from Trans African Concessions (Trac), Ms Solange Nicholson confirmed that Trac is aware of the spikes on the N4 and they are working with relevant law enforcement stakeholders to help victims.
