Family Pick n Pay Staff and clients are safe

Gunshots tore through the air as the robbers tried to escape.

All the clients and staff of Family Pick n Pay River Crescent are safe.

Armed robbers robbed the store a little while ago.

A woman was apparently hit over the head and her firearm was taken during the robbery.

A shoot-out ensued between the police and the robbers as they tried to escape.

“It was terrible. The robbers just missed the policemen in the vehicle,” an eyewitness said.

Police are searching for one of the robbers that fled on foot.
