The Highveld Sages Cancer Golf Day is just around the corner.
This year’s golf day will be held at Witbank Golf Club on Thursday, October 13.
Highveld Sages is no novice when it comes to this particular fundraising project.
Highveld Sages in conjunction with national Sages embarked on a golf day project 16 years ago to raise money to support the Cancer Association’s countrywide.
The Highveld branch of Sages has successfully participated in this cancer project from inception in 2006 and the Highveld branch has contributed over half a million Rand to this very worthy cause.
“Of the 29 branches nationally, our 2021 project was the best in the country and raised more than R 74 000. This is due to the wonderful support from our many caring friends,” said Sarie Viljoen who is the project coordinator.
“All funds raised by us are donated to the Highveld branch of the South African Cancer Association for exclusive use in our area. To date, the Highveld branch has raised over R800 000 which is also the most of the branches. We have and are continually trying to monitor that the funds donated are used for the betterment of the cancer sufferers,” Sarie said.
The Cancer Association is registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO reg. No 000-524) as well as a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 130001397) in terms of section 18A (1) (a) of the Income Tax Act.
All donors who require a tax certificate must complete and return the attached request form.
“We realise that the current financial situation in the country, and especially in the Highveld region, does not bode well for any financial assistance, and we would therefore appreciate being placed on your 2022 budget allocation,” Sarie added.
She said Highveld Sages will be extremely grateful if you would kindly assist us with their cancer project and sponsor a hole for R2 500 or any donation you may wish to make.
