Members of the community in Phola walk towards a safe area with the police.
Ensuring that the needs of community members are taken care of, the community policing forum (CPF) goes out of its way to improve.
The Phola CPF members attended a workshop that would aid them in the future.
The workshop was held on Tuesday, July 19 at the Phola Police Station.
Members from the Department of Safety, Security, and Liaison led by Mrs. Mumsy Cibe conducted training on the newly elected CPF members along with the Phola Youth Desk, Community in Blue, and Twin Security members.
Warrant Officer Thokozani Masuku, who is the commander of the visible police unit Vispol in Phola and Sergeant Petros Ntuli, who is the communications and community police officer, opened and welcomed the visitors from the department as well as all the attendees who responded positively to the call.
“The training was successful and very fruitful. They were taught details and context about community policing and how they should conduct themselves,” said Sergeant Ntuli.
The chairperson of the CPF, Mr Mlungisi Nkonde, gave a vote of thanks and closed the meeting, commending the members for their dedication to the duty.
