Tragedy strikes on OR Tambo Street when a man lost his life after colliding with a robot
A robot may require moving traffic to stop, but it is not enough to stop a tragic loss from happening.
The early morning hours of July 23 brought an event that left a family traumatised.
A man drove his silver Ford Figo into a robot on OR Tambo Street.
The collision’s aftermath could be seen, with the hit robot standing askew and small parts of his vehicle scattered on the sidewalk.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
“We are asking drivers to remain vigilant and cautious while driving and to keep in mind the safety of other drivers when on the road,” Witbank Police spokesperson, Sgt David Ratau, said.
The family of the deceased was too traumatised to talk about the incident.
This was not the only accident over the past weekend that claimed a life in eMalahleni.
Mr Alf Grobler died on the old Middelburg Road Saturday night. (Read the full story of this tragedy in WITBANK NEWS this week).
