Man arrested for pointing a gun at police officers

A man who was arrested for pointing a firearm appeared in court after being arrested by police.

Interfering with police work could land you behind bars, as a Komdraai resident allegedly found himself in hot water after a case of pointing a firearm was opened against him at Vosman Police Station.

This incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday, September 14 at the Kromdraai plot near Empumelelweni, when a group of individuals allegedly became aggressive and attacked police officers.

According to reports, the complainant, who is also a sheriff, alleged that while on duty with his colleague, two males and three females approached him and his colleague and began to be arrogant toward them.

It is believed that after the three females began throwing stones and hurling insults at them, one of the males pointed a firearm at them, prompting the complainant and his colleague to go to Vosman Police Station to report the incident.

The suspect who pointed the firearm at the victims was apprehended by police.

On Friday, September 16, the suspect appeared in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court.
