Robbers lock grandfather in garage, left son and granddaughter tied up

The number of house break-ins are on a constant rise.

eMalahleni residents are urged to remain vigilant as Witbank Police are looking for robbers who broke into a home in Van Ryneveld Street, Extension 5.

The victim was in his home watching TV with his family when a male that appeared out of nowhere broke into their premises at around 23:30 on Sunday, September 18.

The suspect forcefully dragged the man around his house and locked him in his garage. The victim, unfortunately, left the gate and door unlocked and sadly paved the way for the robbers. The victim broke open the door, where he found his son and granddaughter alive and well, even though they were tied up by the suspects.

The victim’s son took him into a bedroom as he was not in a good condition.

The suspects helped themselves to various items from his home and later took off.
