Africoal SA’s generosity revives Mokibe Primary School

“We are grateful to Africoal SA for restoring our hope, pride, and dignity.”

Mokibe Primary School, which was forced to close due to its dilapidated condition, has been given a new lease on life, thanks to the generosity of Africoal SA.

Since the beginning of this year, the school has been able to accommodate over 200 children, marking a fresh start for the institution.

Africoal SA’s commitment to community development was vividly demonstrated on Wednesday, April 17, as they officially handed over the school.

This act of generosity follows the donation of a piece of land in Siyanqoba, Leeuwpoort, by the Mabena family for the construction of the school.

Prince Thulani Mabena expressed gratitude, saying, “We are grateful to Africoal SA for restoring our hope, pride, and dignity. With this support, we believe that children, even those from farmworker families, can aspire to become doctors, engineers, and more.”

Nichol van Demerwe, speaking on behalf of Africoal SA, said, “We can see a noticeable change in the children, a restoration of their dignity. Seeing the children happy is what makes all of this worthwhile.”

The School Governing Body (SGB) also extended their heartfelt gratitude to both the Mabena family for donating the land and Africoal SA for their generous support.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Mabena family for their generous donation of land and also to Africoal SA for their amazing job. God bless all the people involved in this project,” said Jane Mazibuko, a representative of the SGB.
