SPCA graced with donations from various organisations

Simonsvlei Wines, IPP Mining, and FKN Army recently teamed up for a good cause and raised funds for various charities in Mpumalanga.
The SPCA was one of the fortunate beneficiaries that received a R30 000 cheque to go towards the needs of the charity.
Natasha Grundy, national sales manager for Simonsvlei, shared on Thursday, June 13 that when you have an animal at home, or you know of somebody who has pets, it always warms a heart to know that they are well taken care of.

“I have a few pets myself, and have a very soft spot for the SPCA. The work they do here every day is something I admire, and we can see the struggle that they go through, to keep up with the bills, maintenance, staff, and more. It is a privilege for Simonsvlei to be donating along with IPP for this cause,” Natasha said.

She also expressed that she would often see a dog or cat roaming around the streets, “and you wonder where they end up. The SPCA Witbank has been filling the void in so many animals’ lives daily, making sure they are warm, fed, washed, and groomed, not to speak or mention when they get ill,” Natasha added.

IPP Mining representative Dannie Roodt enlightened that Simonsvlei, IPP, and FKN Army, teamed up earlier this year in April to host a golf day, raising funds for various good causes.

One of the founding members of the FKN Army, Kiki Wentzel, mentioned that the army aspires to help people that cannot help themselves or organisations that lack funding.

“That was the goal for the golf day, all the parties wanted to help, especially in the months ahead, as winter is starting to settle in. We want to encourage people to keep on donating, calling and asking what the needs are, and helping the SPCA in any way possible.”

Denise Grobler accepted the cheque on behalf of the organisation, saying in an interview, that this will help various elements of the SPCA.
Natasha ended by sharing that the donation felt like being a part of something greater than themselves.

“A little goes a long way, just like we at Simonsvlei, say – we are more than wine. We want to build our community and support where we can as people support us. Giving is always a way to bring people together. Simonsvlei and IPP will partner again next year for a golf day at Middelburg Golf Club on April 18. If you want to be a part of making a difference, email them at marketing-nr@simonsvlei.co.za and be sure to follow FKN Army on their social media to see the outstanding work and other donations that are soon to be made,” Natasha ended.
