No sign of electricity yet

The damage at at Doornpoort substation incomer 1 and 2 is extensive.

The power outage affecting a majority of the Eastern substations is due to a fault on Eskom’s side.

A team from Eskom is still busy at the Doornpoort substation incomer 1 and 2 fixing the damage.

Due to the extensive damage they are unable to provide a time estimate for repairs at the moment.

The affected substations are:

  • Driehoek sub
  • Witbank Dam sub
  • Paul Sauer sub
  • Reyno Ridge Ext 6 sub
  • Dixon sub
  • Kierpersol sub
  • Model Park sun
  • Del Judor sub
  • Malharbe sub

Point B reservoir, Point C reservoir, Ben Fleur package plant and Witbank Dam are also affected.
