Witbank High School’s spelling bee team made an unforgettable impression at the Masters Spelling Bee national competitions in Pretoria.
On Friday, October 11, eight talented learners represented the school, showcasing exceptional spelling prowess.
Two learners, Bongekile Sindane (Grade 8) and Nozipho Bhuda (Grade 9), tied for first place. Each winner received a R2 000 cash voucher, a certificate, and a trophy.
The remaining team members were awarded certificates of participation, a testament to their dedication and hard work.
Additionally, Grade 12 learner, Mmela Boikano, secured first place in the Fin Master Accounting and Mathematics Competition, taking home a R1 000 voucher.
Slindile Magagula, the team’s coach, said with pride, “We are incredibly proud of our learners’ achievements. Their commitment to excellence and teamwork has paid off.”
