eMalahleni businessman kidnapped

The Pakistani community gathered at Witbank Police Station and urged anyone with information to come forward.

A businessman was kidnapped this afternoon.

Saqlain Ali, a Pakistani national, who owns a hardware shop in the CBD was kidnapped just after 15:00.

According to Mr Imtiaz Ahmed, a spokesperson for the Pakistani community, two men came into the hardware shop and acted like customers.

“One of the men asked where our boss was and told him to go to the other side. He said he would travel in his vehicle, but then more men came in, and they bundled him into a vehicle and sped off,” an employee said.

A lookout for a white Fortuner and silver Landrover believed to be involved in the kidnapping, was called on the Zello channel.
