Man arrested for allegedly killing person over R1 dispute
The suspect is expected to return to court on January 30, after being granted R3 000 bail on Tuesday, November 26.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing a man at a local tavern in Coronation, Likazi.
According to the police reports, the dispute took place on Saturday, November 2, at around 03:10, when the suspect demanded R1 from the victim, which allegedly led to an argument and eventually a physical fight.
The man allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife in the neck.
According to a police report the man fled the scene and hid with his friends, who subsequently reported him to the police.
The community had threatened to burn down the man’s mother’s house if he was not arrested.
The suspect appeared at the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, November 26, and was granted bail of R3 000; he is scheduled to appear in court again on January 30, 2025.
“The police are investigating the incident, and the community is urged to remain calm and allow the law to take its course,” said Witbank Police spokesperson Eddie Hall.
This is still an ongoing case.
