Local petrol station targeted in early morning robbery

Alleged business robbery reported in eMalahleni CBD.

A brazen and daring robbery unfolded in eMalahleni’s CBD, as a group of men targeted a local petrol station, making off with a haul of goods.

According to the police, a complainant said that on Friday, December 6, he was on duty when a group of approximately seven men approached the petrol station at around 03:45.

The complainant further explained that one of the men covered his face while the others did not conceal their identities.

The men allegedly kicked in the door and gained entry to the premises.Two of the men were allegedly armed.

Once inside, the men allegedly helped themselves with various items, including cigarettes, chocolates, and groceries. The incident reportedly lasted only a few minutes, after which the suspects ran away towards Coronation.

Captain Eddie Hall, the spokesperson from the Witbank Police, said, “The community must remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.”
