Dear reader

Christmas is a time for celebration, it is also time to reflect on the true meaning of the season.

The year has flown by. It feels as if someone is pressing the fast-forward button.

It feels like just yesterday we got out of the running blocks and the year started with water problems dripping from the headlines.

Sad to say, the year ends without more water woes.

But alas, as we turn the page on another year, I have a sense of gratitude as I look at the amazing year at Witbank News where we have woven together a tapestry of stories with threads of joy, sorrow, hope, and resilience.

We laughed, we cried, and we celebrated alongside our community.

Your struggles and triumphs were all part of our journey in ink.

As we reflect on the year that is coming to an end, I want to focus on you our reader, and say thank you for being part of our family.

To our advertisers, thank you for your unwavering support. Your trust and support have been instrumental in our growth and success.

For me, the true spirit of Christmas lies in giving and sharing. Let us spread kindness and fill the City of Coal with warmth, laughter, and love.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous 2025.

Kind regards
Zita Goldswain
