Contractor stable after explosion, municipal repairs ongoing

The contractor injured during an explosion at a mini substation is stable.

The man injured during an explosion at the mini substation in Leeu Street Reyno Ridge is stable.

Clr Kim Fourie, ward councillor for Ward 33, where the explosion happened, said the owner of the company said that the man is still in the hospital.

The mini substation exploded on January 1 when the man allegedly reconnected electricity.

Fourie said the transformer arrived just after noon, and the municipal team was busy on site.
