eMalahleni hit by unplanned water supply interruption

Water supply interrupted in eMalahleni due to burst pipeline. Residents are advised to use water sparingly.

eMalahleni Local Municipality has announced an unplanned water supply interruption affecting the town and surrounding areas.

The disruption is due to a burst raw water bulk pipeline from the Witbank Dam raw water pump station.

According to the municipality, the damaged pipeline has been isolated, and emergency repair is underway.

However, water production at the Witbank Water Treatment Works and Ben Fleur (Point S) Package Plant has been disrupted.

Residents are urged to use available water sparingly until the system is fully restored. Water tankers will be dispatched to supply essential services such as clinics and hospitals.

The municipality acknowledges the frustration caused by this situation and promises to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
