Bridgette is squeezing every bit of fun out of life
Bridgette hopes her story will inspire young girls to pursue their dreams, regardless of obstacles.
eMalahleni’s own Bridgette Mohlala (26) takes a leap of faith to pursue her passion. Bridgette has just been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Mrs South Africa 2025, and she’s calling on her community to rally behind her on this new journey.
“This is my first time entering a pageant, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and how I can use this platform to make a positive impact.”
Bridgette’s own experiences have taught her the importance of community and perseverance. “Growing up, I moved a lot, and I’m a living testament that it truly takes a village to raise a child,” she said. “I’ve learned to adapt and make the most of every situation. As I always say, ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’.”
Bridgette is all about creating opportunities for herself and those around her. “I don’t wait for handouts; I go for everything my mind sets me to do,” she explained. “My favorite quote is: ‘Opportunities are like sunrise; if you wait for long, you miss them.’ I give life my biggest shot and let everything unfold.”
As a finalist, Bridgette aims to use her platform to advocate for those who do not have a voice. “I want to focus on early childhood and acknowledge the heroes who help working moms and dads pursue their goals and shoot for the stars,” she said. “I’d love to see the boy child given as much exposure as the girl child is given. I look forward to working with housekeepers, day-carers, and nannies, so they feel recognised for their hard work.”
Bridgette’s message to young girls is one of hope and resilience. “Dreams do come true when you put in the work,” she emphasised. “Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not smart enough, your skin is too dark, or your scars make you less beautiful. You are enough, and your dreams are valid. Remember, ‘The only way to do great work, is to love what you do’.”
To support Bridgette in the Mrs South Africa 2025, voters can like her official voting card on Instagram (@mrs_south_africa) and Facebook (Mrs South Africa), or send ‘Bridgette Mohlala’ to 47587 via SMS. Voting already opens and closes on July 2.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to making my community proud,” she said. “I hope that my story can inspire others to chase their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem.”
