Abduction accused – back in Ga-Nala court next week

Kriel SAPS is gearing up for the accused of the Ga-Nala abduction case to appear next week.

Grace Gumbo (26) and Mercy Tsoko (28) were arrested in January last year following the abduction of a baby.

They made their third appearance before the Ga-Nala Magistrate’s Court on March 26 and the court ruled that they remain in police custody until the next court appearance.

They are suspected of abducting three chidren, including the four-month-old baby who was taken at Thubelihle on December 28, 2023.

They allegedly presented themselves to the mother as caregivers.

They were arrested in Ogies after police got a tip-off from community members about the two women who were pretending to be caregivers that were roaming around Ogies with three babies.

The Kriel police swiftly responded to the information and then managed to arrest the two women.

The boy, believed to be three years old, is suspected to have been taken at Marble Hall in April 2023.

A baby girl believed to be eight months old was found. This child also is believed to have been abducted at Springs in September 2023.
