Man’s path to work turns into robbery scene

A man suffered a head injury and was robbed of his cellphone recently.

A man was on his way to work at Old Coronation when three strangers turned his day upside down.

The man told police one of the strangers allegedly threatened to shoot him on March 7, and in a sudden turn of events, one of the men allegedly hit him with a golf club.

Lying helpless on the ground, the trio allegedly robbed him of his cellphone and wallet.

The men fled shortly afterward, and the victim said he could identify two of the suspects.

Witbank Police are urging the community of eMalahleni to remain vigilant as armed robberies have found a foothold in the area.

The community is urged to remain vigilant and report such activities to the police.
