Community alert: Severe weather warning for eMalahleni

eMalahleni under severe weather alert

The South African Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning, predicting scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms in eMalahleni and surrounding areas.
According to the statement provided by the Emalahleni Local Municipality expected weather conditions may lead to localised flooding, especially in low-lying areas, as well as travel disruptions, difficult driving conditions, power outages and property damage.

The municipality’s disaster management unit urges everyone to exercise extreme caution when travelling and to avoid attempting to cross submerged roads and bridges.

Disaster management teams are on standby, ready to respond to emergencies.

In case of an emergency, residents can contact the Emergency Call Centre at 013 6906 222/333/444.
