Kwa-Guqa man shot during hijacking

The man was injured as he tried to protect his company vehicle from being stolen.

Vosman Police are investigating a case of hijacking and attempted murder after a man was shot and injured.

The incident occurred on the evening of June 3 in Kwa-Guqa Extension 4.

According to the police, the man was on his way from work when the hijackers pounced.

The man told the police that he stopped at his gate and hooted for his wife to open for him when two men approached him.

They were armed and demanded he get out of his bakkie and leave everything behind.

The man tried to resist, and the hijackers opened fire and shot him in the leg.

They fled with the bakkie and his belongings.

The bakkie was recovered, but the suspects remain at large.

Police investigations are still underway.
