Residents near Dirkse, De Klerk, and Bester Streets in Del Judor Extension 4 were rattled last night when a bush pig was spotted sprinting through their neighbourhood around 22:50.

The unusual visitor was first noticed after a resident’s dogs went into a frenzy, barking at their gate in Dirkse Street.

Curious and concerned, the homeowner followed the creature by car, watching it dash toward De Klerk Street and then vanish near Bester Street.

Wildlife officials warn that while bush pigs are generally shy, they can be unpredictable, especially at night.

Residents are advised to exercise caution, keep pets indoors, and report any sightings immediately.

Anyone who sees the bush pig is requested to contact Wildlife Protection Services on 012 282 8671 or 072 361 6104.
