Car tyres with rims stolen from family vehicle in Die Heuwel

Thieves remove car tyres with rims from vehicles and steal them in Die Heuwel.

A local family woke up to a shocking discovery yesterday morning when they found the car tyres with rims stolen from their property in Die Heuwel.

The incident came as a surprise to the homeowners, who first noticed the theft while preparing to use their vehicle.

“I was about to leave when I realised the tyres and rims were gone,” said one family member who wished to remain anonymous.
“This is the first time something like this has happened to us.”

Footage captured by a neighbour’s camera revealed that the thieves carried the stolen tyres on their heads.

“It was surprising to see how they used their heads to carry the tyres like that,” he said. “However, their faces were obscured or turned away from the camera, making identification difficult.”

The family reported there were no noises or signs of forced entry during the night.

“They must have gained access quietly; we didn’t hear a thing,” he added.

Police have been notified, and a case has been officially opened.
