SAPS investigates inquest after man’s lifeless body discovered

Vosman Police is investigating an inquest following the man’s death.

According to the Vosman SAPS, a man was found dead and in a state of decomposition in a back room of a residence last week.

The discovery was made after police got a tip-off to attend an inquest on September 16.

“Upon arrival, the officers met the person who led them to the back room where the deceased was found, and he identified the man as his uncle. He stated that he had last seen him on Tuesday,” said Captain Vusi Mnisi from Vosman SAPS.
“According to his account, the deceased had eaten his food and gone to sleep as usual. However, after several days had passed without any sign of activity, the nephew alleged that he noticed a foul smell coming from the room,” Mnisi added.

According to Mnisi, when officers arrived, they found that the man had already passed away and his body was in an advanced state of decomposition.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not provided any further answers regarding the circumstances of the death. Investigations are still ongoing.
