Update | It is believed that the missing teen is in Johannesburg

There is still no trace of Kaitlin.

The search for missing 19-year-old Kaitlin Coetzer has now shifted to Johannesburg after she was traced to the Hillbrow area.

The 19-year-old who went missing last night took a taxi from eMalahleni to Hillbrow.

A long distance taxi driver said the taxi drivers in the CBD raised the money for her fare to Hillbrow after she begged them for assistance.

She wrote her name in the taxi driver’s logbook.

“She definitely got into a taxi between 20:00 and 21:00. The taxi driver said she sat in the back and spoke to no one,” her aunt,Claudine Klingenberg said.

The police are working around the clock with their counterparts in Gauteng to try and find the girl.

Kaitlin reportedly jumped out of her parents’ car yesterday when they stopped at a hospital in eMalahleni.

She later phoned and was traced to the CBD. When she saw her parents’ car, she ran away.

Tow-in drivers, police, taxi drivers, and the community searched for her throughout the night.
