Sassa doesn’t disappoint as older persons are already smiling their way to the bank to get their first grants for the new year.

Ensure you have the correct date as scheduled by Sassa to collect your grant.

The schedule ensures that crucial funds are delivered directly into the hands of those who need them most, helping to put food on tables, keep homes secure, and ensure children have the resources they need.

Social grant payments for January 2026 are being processed as follows:

• Older persons’ grants are paid from today, January 6.
• Disability grants will be paid from January 7.
• Children’s grants will be paid from January 8.

“If you did not receive your social grant on the date you were intended to be paid, please urgently visit your Sassa office as you may be due for a review,” Sassa said in a statement.
