A video of a driver performing high-speed manoeuvres around a circle in Mandela Road has ignited a fierce debate on social media.

Some viewers gave the driver’s technical skills a thumbs up, while others pointed out the risks posed to public safety.

The footage shows the driver skillfully navigating the vehicle around the traffic circle with screeching tyres.

The matter has since been brought to the attention of the Emalahleni Local Municipality.

Municipal spokesperson Lebo Mofokeng, said that the office will  investigate the incident and provide further information regarding the specific bylaws that prohibit negligent driving on public roads.
