Klippies kick off athletics season with a bang

Laerskool Klipfontein learners brought their A-game for their interhouse athletics day.

It was all fun and competition at the Laerskool Klipfontein sports ground as the learners from the school gathered for their interhouse sports event.

Hosted on January 16, the event was held in preparation for the upcoming athletics season.

The school divided its learners into three groups, which competed against each other to determine who would represent the school in the forthcoming competitions.

“The learners to secure the first two places go through to represent the school in the competition,” said Marelize Stoltz from Laerskool Klipfontein.

Among the events featured in the athletics programme were hurdles, race, long jump, high jump, and shot put.

The young athletes vied for the top positions, all giving their best for an opportunity to represent the school.

The selected participants will prepare for the next level of the competition in the next few days.

“We are so proud of all our learners who participated,” Marelize said, adding that they look forward to many wins from the teams that will be representing the school.
