Flat on residential premises catches fire, the cause unknown

A three-bedroom flat, situated next to a house caught fire this afternoon in Odendaal Street, Klipfontein.

Although structurally still standing, the flames burned, and blackened everything.

The owner, who would wish to stay anonymous, said that her granddaughter was playing inside when they noticed the smoke.

Luckily they managed to get her out before the flat was engulfed in flames.

The blaze was extinguished by neighbours and residents in the area. Nobody was injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
