eMalahleni man needs your help to fight brain tumor

“Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference, helping Rohan focus on healing while his loved ones focus on supporting him,” said Frederick.

Rohan Ries from Die Heuwel in eMalahleni needs your help to fight his battle with a brain tumor after he was diagnosed last month.
According to Frederick Maritz, one of the people behind Ries, the 43-year-old is currently facing one of life’s toughest battles after his brain tumor diagnosis on October 21.

“Despite the fear and uncertainty that come with such news, he continues to face every day with courage, strength, and his trademark sense of humor,” Frederick said.

Rohan’s journey ahead involves intensive treatment, scans, and ongoing care, which have all placed an enormous strain on his family, which is why they have started a ‘Back A Buddy’ campaign to raise funds to relieve the family’s financial burden.

Maritz said that all funds raised will go toward specialist consultations, medical scans, treatment, medication, and ongoing care and recovery support.
Of the R400 000 goal they have, through the campaign, they have so far managed to raise approximately R24 000.

“Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference, helping Rohan focus on healing while his loved ones focus on supporting him,” Frederick said, adding that with Ries’ proven dedication to showing up for others, it is time for the community of eMalahleni to show up for him as well.

“Let’s stand together as family, friends, and community to remind him that he’s not alone, that the same warmth and laughter he’s shared with all of us will now come back to him,” Frederick concluded.
