Man of Truth hosts transformative men-to-men Dialogue in Phola

The event encouraged men to see vulnerability as strength and inspired community-wide support.

Man of Truth hosted a transformative men-to-men dialogue in Phola, focusing on breaking the silence surrounding men’s mental health.

The gathering on November 22 created a safe and supportive space where men could openly share personal struggles, express emotions, and uplift one another without fear of judgement.

Facilitators highlighted that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, encouraging men to prioritise emotional wellness, healing, and genuine connection.

Sgt Thabangu Ntuli, spokesperson for the Phola Police Station, said, The station commander encouraged me to address domestic violence because men also experience abuse. Men need to know the right channels to report it, and the law protects everyone, not only women. We appreciate Man of Truth for hosting such events. Men must not abuse, and they must also not accept being abused.”

Social worker Jabulani Shezi added, “We tackled the real issues affecting men, including suicide, and gave them practical solutions for dealing with challenges like gender-based violence.”
