Two Kwa-Thema learners have unforgettable experience

For some, it was the first time they swam in the ocean.

Two Kwa-Thema learners were among 50 youngsters who travelled to KwaZulu-Natal as part of the 22nd annual edition of the Boxer Youth Leadership Programme, which took place from March 22 to 27.

The programme, sponsored by Boxer and Clover, treated 50 learners across SA and Eswatini to a fun-filled experience of ocean swims, abseiling, and educational workshops that taught them leadership skills.

Additionally, the learners received full programme kits, including tracksuits, pants and shirts. Boxer group executive for stakeholders sustainability and engagement Ntombi Dludla said the learners gained friendships, skills and a better understanding of their roles in the world.

“This year was a special one for our young leaders. Every opportunity presented to them this week was absorbed and energetically attempted, and every one of the 50 guests excelled.

“Boxer is dedicated to uplifting the youth and shaping future leaders. We cannot wait to again choose 50 more leaders from the schools in your community next,” she said.

Special appearances from experts in various fields and guest speakers inspired the youngsters to reach their potential.

According to Jason McCall, Boxer’s marketing communication liaison, the programme concluded with a graduation ceremony.

It featured performances by the guests, followed by the final awards and a farewell dinner.

He said pupils in Grades nine to 11 and their parents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the 2025 entry information to be released later in the year.
