The Social Café is worth a visit
Resident talks about new family-friendly Social Café in Alberton North.
I just want to take the opportunity to talk about a new and overlooked gem in the Alberton North area.
The owners of the venue, Ricky and Dino, decided to open up the Social Café in Alberton North to create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere that is family-friendly but can also have a bit of a party vibe on some evenings for the younger crowd.
Their food is to die for. They have a variety of meals, from creating your own meze platters to toasted sandwiches and even nachos. Everything is always fresh and extremely tasty. I’ve been there for a variety of functions which have included a 21st birthday party, and a gender reveal. The staff are very kind and welcoming and make you feel at home.
Besides the food, what I enjoy about the venue is on a Thursday evening you may have an event that brings in more of a younger crowd. Then comes the weekend when they have one-man bands and days focused just on the kids where they set up the jumping castle or put out a variety of things for the kids to do. So while mom and dad want to kick back and relax, the kids are entertained.
Their other events have included Old School Sundays where you can enjoy music from the 80s onwards. They do soccer evenings where they stream matches, karaoke evenings and the latest hit is the ladies night every two months or so.
I think just overall it’s a very hidden gem and I strongly feel its a place for everyone
