Alberton SAPS officers clamp down on crime
Alberton SAPS officers were all hands on deck over the weekend when they successfully nabbed at least 23 suspects in their policing precinct.
The men and women in blue had their hands full over the weekend as they arrested 23 suspects for different crimes.
These arrests include crimes such as dealing in drugs, negligence loss of a firearm, drinking and driving, exceeding speed limits, theft, shoplifting, rape, and assault with the intention to commit grievous bodily harm.
The suspects were charged accordingly and taken to the local court to face their alleged criminal activities.
“To the members of the community who continue to inform the police about crime in their area, please don’t stop. People visiting malls should make sure their cars are properly closed. After you have closed your car, physically check it. Some criminals are using their technology to stop your cars from locking their doors,” explained Alberton SAPS’ Captain Manare Ramotshela.
He also advised the community to stay safe ahead of the festive season.
“Please get informed as we have more criminals who steal from parked cars. The festive season is upon us, and the only income for criminals is through crime,” Ramotshela said.
