3 arrested after armed altercation at Brackenhurst Square
Security teams and law enforcement responded swiftly to a reported altercation at Brackenhurst Square involving intimidation with a firearm.
An incident involving a firearm at Brackenhurst Square led to the arrest of three suspects on July 9.
CPS Security Director Tyrone van der Merwe said their team responded to an altercation at one of the shops following a complaint of intimidation with a firearm.
“Upon arrival, we called in support from Brackendowns SAPS, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies,” said Van der Merwe.

Two suspects were arrested on the scene, while a third later handed himself over at the Brackendowns Police Station.
All suspects are currently in police custody. No injuries were reported during the incident.
According to unconfirmed reports, Albel Moller and Vermooten roads have been reopened to traffic, and all shops at the square are operating as normal following the incident.
