Vlei Street substation received its final makeover

After painting the Vlei Street Substation on October 15, the community of Ward 106 concluded painting the substation on November 26.

The Vlei Street substation received a final makeover from Ward 106 Clr Tim Denny together with his committee on November 26.

The team had previously painted the substation on Vlei Street and removed the wall graffiti. A South Crest neighbour donated the paint.

According to Denny, everybody wants to improve the standard of living in their communities.

“It is up to us all to contribute to giving back in making such a reality. The community needed this painting as the substation was filled with terrible graffiti. When the community calls, we must answer,” said Denny.

The community joined in and gave support to the initiative. Denny explained this was one of the strategies to beautify the community and this initiative will continue throughout the ward.

Community members are requested to keep an eye out for information about the next clean-up if they want to join the team.
