Eden Park Secondary School learner takes up senior post in Ekurhuleni South District
Prince Morapedi, the Representative Council of Learners president at Eden Park Secondary, was elected to the Ekurhuleni South district schools.
A learner at Eden Park Secondary School is among the top leaders in the Ekurhuleni South district schools (ESSD).
Prince Morapedi, the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) president at the school, was elected secretary of the ESSD, a milestone for Eden Park Secondary because it is the first time one of its learners holds a senior position at the district level.
“Congratulations, Prince. We know you will represent us well and continue to make a difference,” said the school in a statement.
“This achievement is a testament to Morapedi’s dedication, leadership and commitment to representing our school and fellow learners. It is another step in the right direction for our school, and we could not be prouder,” read the statement.
The South African Schools Act (84 of 1996) states that an RCL must be established at every public school, composed of learners in grades eight to 12.
