Residents from various areas of Ekurhuleni are mobilising for clean-up campaign

The ‘We Love Our City clean-up campaign targets residents of Alberton, Eden Park, Germiston, and other areas in the Ekurhuleni metro.

Organisers of the We Love Our City campaign are calling on residents in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) to participate in a clean-up campaign at cemeteries, parks, and sidewalks in their neighbourhoods.

The first clean-up campaign is scheduled for March 21 which will coincide with SA’s Human Rights Day.

The campaign is targeted at suburban areas like Alberton, and Germiston, as well as areas on the outskirts of towns such as Eden Park, Thokoza, and Palmridge.

“We encourage families to come clean up their neighbourhoods’ cemeteries and parks,” said the organisers in a statement.

Organisers say they do not want it to be a once-off campaign, and if it is successful, they would want it to be done occasionally.

Willing participants who reside in Alberton, Eden Park, Thokoza, Palmridge, and surrounding areas can call Mbongeni, who is the coordinator designated for these areas on 082 507 8710 for more information.
