For the second consecutive year, Hoërskool Alberton learner elected RCL President South district

Sakhile Tlhabanelo, who is Hoërskool Alberton’s Head Girl, is also President of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) for the Ekurhuleni South District.

Hoërskool Alberton’s head girl was recently elected as Ekurhuleni South District’s RCL president.

Sakhile Tlhabanelo’s election as president makes it the second consecutive year that the RCL presidency is held by a Hoërskool Alberton learner.

Sakhile’s predecessor as South District’s RCL president was Gizelle Wiid, Hoërskool Alberton’s 2024 academic year head girl.

The South African Schools Act (84 of 1996) states that an RCL must be established at every public school, composed of learners in grades eight to 12.
