Grace Daycare & Aftercare preschool donates to Stepping Stone in heartfelt gesture
Students and parents come together to give back in honor of compassionate care provided to a teacher’s family.
Grace Daycare & Aftercare preschool located in Randhart, has recently visited the Stepping Stone Hospice to show some love by donating an amazing amount.
The funds were contributed by the preschool parents. The little stars gathered silver coins into their class boxes, and together they raised an amount of R1 630,80.
The Stepping Stone Hospice was filled with appreciation after they received the donations.
Tersia Burger the CEO and founder of Stepping Stone Hospice had this to say: “We are overwhelmed with gratitude for their thoughtfulness.
Thank you, Grace Daycare & Aftercare, for your extraordinary support and sharing your love with us,” she said.
Madeleine Buzuidenhout, a teacher from Grace Daycare & Aftercare, said they wanted to teach their learners that it is not always about receiving, they also need to give.
The preschool planned this donation from last year as part of their school year plan.
“We knew from the start we would donate the funds we collect. In May 2024, My mother-in-law passed away from cancer while in the care of Hospice Stepping Stone.
“The dedication, professionalism and true passion for people as well as their care for the families, was what drove our school to donate our collection to them. The work they do is truly inspiring and commendable and we wanted to give a little bit of ‘Grace’ back to them in the same manner they treated my mother-in-law and our family with grace,” she said.
