Hospice volunteer, photographer’s talent shines with prestigious award
Judy Joubert, who recently bagged a Silver Medal from PSSA (Photographic Society of South Africa), has again proven that her passion for photography and involvement with Stepping Stone Hospice demonstrates her deep connection to the community and her desire to make a positive impact.

Judy Joubert, a talented local photographer and dedicated volunteer at Stepping Stone Hospice, has been recognised for her outstanding skill behind the lens.
The Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA) recently awarded Judy a prestigious Silver Medal at the Western Cape Photographic Forum’s National Salon Competition.

This esteemed accolade is a testament to Judy’s dedication to her craft, which has captured the hearts of many through her beautiful and evocative photographs.
Testament to her talent and dedication, in 2023, she received her first honours, LPSSA, from PSSA.
Judy’s achievement is all the more remarkable considering her long-standing commitment to volunteering at Stepping Stone Hospice, where she has been giving her time selflessly for over 12 years since the hospice first opened its doors.

Tersia Burger, Stepping Stone Hospice CEO, congratulated the talented photographer and said that as a volunteer, Judy provides invaluable support to the organisation.
“We are incredibly proud of Judy’s achievement. Her dedication to our organisation and her passion for photography are an inspiration to us all. This award is a well-deserved recognition of her talents and commitment to our community,” she said.
Judy expressed that this was a significant milestone in her photography career.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and humbled to receive this prestigious award from the Photographic Society of South Africa. It’s a testament to the power of photography to touch hearts and minds. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to share my passion with the community. The Barn Owl photograph got me a win in the senior section during our recent club event (Southern Suburbs Camera Club, Glenvista),” she said.
