Alberton’s Life on the Streets (LOTS) hosted a successful youth day event.

Held at Ligstad on April 5, the event attracted dozens of kids and youth from Alberton North and other parts of the suburb.

The attendees’ ages ranged from as little as three years old to 18 years and older. They were encouraged to follow God and were told about the consequences of drug use and substance abuse.

A presentation of how heroin affects a human being’s brain and other organs was made for the youth to raise awareness of how this substance can ruin people’s lives.

The event saw AMCARE, the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA), and other public good organisations come together to speak to young people about drugs and substance abuse.

But the day was not all business. There were games, storytelling, crafts, egg hunting, mascots, and other activities that made the event a fun-filled day.
