The assisted learning division cares for pre-schoolers with special needs.

Cresco Preschool and Aftercare opened its assisted learning division at 98 Tamarisk Street, Brackendowns.

Cresco opened its first assisted learning class in 2021 and officially launched on April 10 this year.

The assisted learning division aims to care for pre-schoolers with special needs.

“After Covid-19 we saw the severe gap in education for pre-schoolers with specific needs and decided to act on this. We opened a class for children with specific needs and grew from there.

Cresco’s assisted learning commenced on April 10.

“Myself and Bevan Davis knew we could only trust Nelly Gqolito to head this division and contacted her,” said Zanelle Odendaal, principal of Cresco Preschool and Aftercare.

Davis is the founder and owner, and Gqoli heads the Cresco Assisted Learning Preschool.

Bevan Davis, Nelly Gqoli and Zantelle Odendaal teamed up to establish the Cresco assisted learning division.

“The three of us agreed to open the assisted learning classes. Nelly has a background in specialised and assisted education, and we knew she would be the perfect person to stand with us,” added Odendaal.

Cresco has 45 learners and nine teachers.

“There are four classes of eight to 10 children at most, with two teachers in each class, qualified in teaching children with special needs. They received training in first aid and fire response skills.”
