Children get creative for Mother’s Day
The halls of Junior Colleges Meyersdal sparkled with creativity as the school hosted a Mother’s Day celebration that brought smiles and laughter.
The event welcomed dozens of mothers for a special morning with their children. In a touching tribute to the love and care mothers give every day, the children worked on a hands-on activity, decorating jewellery boxes as personalised gifts for their moms.
Armed with colourful paints, glitter, gems, and stickers, the young children poured their hearts into crafting one-of-a-kind keepsakes. Each jewellery box became a reflection of the special bond between mother and child.

After the crafting session, the mothers enjoyed some treats. There was plenty of time for cuddles, conversation, and capturing memories at the photo booth set up with floral backdrops and props.
Principal Elriza Riddle expressed her joy at the turnout and the spirit of the event. “We wanted to give our children a chance to show their appreciation in a creative and personal way. And it’s equally important for our school to honour the amazing role mothers play in our children’s lives.”
Junior Colleges’ Mother’s Day celebration served as a warm reminder that sometimes, the simplest moments like paint-smeared hands, proud smiles, and shared laughter are the ones that mean the most.
