WATCH: Groups host Youth Day outreach in Alberton
Community groups shared hope, guidance and free haircuts during a heartfelt Youth Day outreach in Alberton North.
Civil society organisations gathered for a youth day outreach on 32 Van Riebeeck Avenue, Alberton North, home to Ligstad’s Preschool, Aftercare and Community Care.
The event began at 09:00 on June 14 and wrapped up shortly after 14:00.
Among the organisations represented were LOTS# (Life on the Streets), the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, child welfare, and the Alberton SAPS, among others.

Mariam Behr, speaking as the New Life coach, joined a lineup of guest speakers. While the event primarily targeted young people aged three to 18, it also drew attendees from older age groups.

The outreach aimed to provide guidance, friendship and hope to the youth through Jesus Christ, all within a safe and welcoming environment.
In addition to talks and activities, attendees enjoyed games followed by a hot meal. Adding a special touch to the day, local barbers offered free haircuts during the event.
