Alberton Lions host heartwarming knitting social for good cause

A cheerful knitting event by Alberton lions brought together ladies of all skill levels to create bunny toys

On July 12, the Alberton Lions hosted a knitting social that brought warmth in more ways than one.

Sixteen ladies participated in the event with five successfully creating bunnies for the first time from simple knitted squares.

The gathering was filled with laughter, good food and a strong sense of community.

In addition to the fun, generous donations poured in, including baby blankets, jerseys, booties, beanies, and other essentials for the Lions’ Mommy Care Bags. These bags are distributed to new mothers at South Rand Hospital.

The Alberton Lions expressed their gratitude for the continued support from their donors.

Special thanks were extended to Lion Nisha for leading the day’s activities, as well as Lions members who joined in to make the event a success.

The club is already looking forward to their next knitting social, where crafting and community spirit continue to come together for a worthy cause.
