Germiston SAPS arrest two men for stealing electrical equipment from City Hall

The EMPD warns anyone targeting public infrastructure will face swift legal action.

On Tuesday, September 23, at around 01:00, members of the EMPD Intervention Unit apprehended two men suspected of tampering with essential infrastructure in Germiston.

Night shift officers responded after receiving a complaint that two individuals had been spotted on security cameras climbing into the Germiston City Hall building.

Upon arrival, officers found the suspects outside the building carrying bags.

The suspects were taken into custody at Germiston SAPS and are facing charges related to tampering with essential infrastructure.

They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
