Ongoing cleaning operations across Ekurhuleni communities are targeting litter, illegal dumping and other waste-related challenges.

The clean-up work includes waste collection, litter picking, bulk container services and the clearing of illegal dumping. City of Ekurhuleni residents, including those in Alberton, receive door-to-door waste collection, while litter picking takes place in central business districts.

Maintenance operations are also underway at transfer stations, where municipal teams manage mini-sites, collect waste and perform general cleaning.

Illegal dumping remains another focus, with teams involved in illegal dumping removal as part of the ongoing operations.

The municipality stated that the initiative focuses on taking action where it matters to keep communities clean.

The clean-up activities form part of the city’s broader message: “Together, we can keep Ekurhuleni clean and keep service delivery in action.”
