Thokoza learners inspired through Youth Month career guidance programme

Grade 12 learners at Tiisetsong Secondary School receive mentorship, bursaries and insights into diverse career paths in media, law, finance and business during a Youth Month initiative hosted in Thokoza.

As part of Youth Month, MultiChoice visited Tiisetsong Secondary School in Thokoza, east of Johannesburg, to inspire Grade 12 learners through mentorship, career guidance and education opportunities.

The event was hosted by Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 winner Liema Pantsi, who served as master of ceremonies and led discussions on the many career paths available in the entertainment industry.

A panel of MultiChoice professionals shared their personal career journeys and explained the important roles they play in the company.

The speakers included human capital business partner Grace Mathe, legal counsel Ntsika Makelo, senior finance manager Taskeen Gangat and head of markets and competition Gomolemo Kekesi.

They encouraged learners to explore careers beyond those seen on screen, highlighting opportunities in law, finance, human resources and business.

The company also awarded two bursaries to deserving learners, reaffirming its commitment to supporting education and helping young people achieve their goals.

The initiative formed part of MultiChoice’s Youth Month activities, which aimed to empower young people through education, skills development, and mentorship.

The event also highlighted the important role the private sector can play in creating opportunities and helping shape South Africa’s future.

Learners were encouraged to ask questions, engage with the speakers and make informed decisions about their futures, leaving the event with valuable advice and a better understanding of the many career opportunities available in the media and entertainment industry.
